I only learned of Lao Tzu recently(2011) ... yet I find him extremely interesting. I find it fascinating that he lived in the same epoch as Isaiah, Budda and Plato ... all espousing the notion of a Divine Being.
Lao Tzu is known as the Father of Daoism ... the word Dao means the "Way" ... Jesus said ... I am the Way, the Truth and the Light. Hmmm!
Lao Tzu recommendations for achieving Dao were ... relinquish all desires, have no social ambitions, take no action etc. Alarmingly similar to the instructions passed down to us from the great Catholic mystics St Teres of Avila and St John of the Cross.
